Martin Fouillard Obituary

It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Martin Fouillard, who left us on May 12, 2026. Martin was born on November 2, 1958, in Russell, Manitoba. He spent much of his life in St. Lazare before moving to Lake of the Prairies, and most recently made his home in Inglis.

At an early age, Martin stepped into the family business, Fouillard Furniture & Appliances. His local TV and radio commercials made him well known for the phrase, “You’ve got a friend in the business.”

Martin was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. He lived a life shaped by faith, love, kindness, humour, and generosity. Anyone fortunate enough to know him understood the depth of his giving nature.

Throughout his life, he shared with his children the value of hard work, his passion for fishing and camping, and his love of country music. Because of him, Hank Williams songs will echo in their memories for years to come. Martin, Joyce, and sometimes their children, were fortunate to travel for furniture and appliance shows. These work trips brought them to major cities across Canada, as well as destinations like Aruba, Florida and Hawaii.

Joyce and the family were his whole world. Martin was overjoyed when he became a Pépère. He cherished his grandchildren - Kasen, Hadlee, Calder, and Sasha - and always had a treat (or two, or three) waiting for them. He loved nothing more than seeing the joy those small goodies brought to their faces.

Martin had many hobbies and collections, and in recent years developed a special love for restoring vintage Honda motorcycles. He enjoyed going for drives with his dog and best buddy, Beaux. He was an avid movie lover, happily watching one movie after another and always ready to talk about the latest show he’d discovered.

Martin is lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his wife of 46 years, Joyce; his children Chelsea (Kyle Cockerill) and Kyle (Tia); and his grandchildren Kasen, Sasha, Hadlee, and Calder. He is also survived by his siblings Robert (Barb), Maurice, Rachelle (Garry), David, and Rebecca; Joyce’s Graham family; and many nieces and nephews. Martin was predeceased by his parents, Eugene and Yvette Fouillard; his sister-in-law Judy Graham  and his brother‑in‑law, Nicholas Huberdeau.

The family will hold a private celebration of life to honour and remember Martin.
