Mike William Hersack

It is with great sadness that the family of Michael William Hersack announces his death on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2024 at the Rossburn District Health Center. Mike was born on March 13, 1929 in the Village of Rossburn, Manitoba to Michael and Dora Hersack. On Nov. 4th, 1952, Mike married Gladys Wowk of Angusville, Manitoba. They celebrated 61 years together and raised four children, Shelley, Debra, Dwayne and Dale. Mike and Gladys farmed until 1978, then moved to Rossburn where Mike was an Esso agent and Gladys was his bookkeeper. She always kept Mike in order! In 1988, they retired from Esso and enjoyed their retirement with their family. Mike will be fondly remembered for his love of his violin, his interest in politics and his love for his computer, especially ordering things from Amazon. He was very proud of all his children and grandchildren and phoned to talk to them ever chance he had. He was very famous for his stories of long ago and explained them in detail. Mike is predeceased by wife Gladys, his father, Michael Hersack, his mother Dora Zimmerman and his step father Peter Zimmerman. Mike is survived by his children, Shelley, Debra (Eugene), Dwayne (Gayle), Dale (Debbie). Grandchildren, Christine (Steve), Denise (Neil), Dynel (Rhonda), Sheldon (Lana), Kelly, Amanda (Aaron), Shawn (Tanya), Craig (Tanya), Jason (Shauna) and Shane. Great Grandchildren, Brady, Jaxen, Cody (Bobbi-Jo), Carly-Jo, Nya, Nick, Tuff, Sawyer, Hunter, Jasmyne, Brayden, Brooklyn, Mackenzie, Haley and Brayden. Funeral Service was held Nov. 29, 2024 in Rossburn at the Parkview Christian Assembly at 11:00 am. Interment to follow at the Rossburn Municipal Cemetery. Honorary pallbearer are grandsons Jason Hersack and Kelly Barnesky. Active pallbearers are grandsons, Dynel Trakalo, Sheldon Barnesky, Shawn Hersack, Craig Hersack, Shane Hersack and granddaughter Christine Dziver. Rest in Peace Mike, Dad, Papa, we will miss you. We love you!
