Celebrating and remembering the life of Mitchell Nerbas
Mitchell was born May 29, 1954 in Langenburg, Saskatchewan, son of Richard Nerbas and Katherine Nerbas. Mitchell’s godparents were Leona and Willard Zorn. He was baptized on June 13th, 1954 and confirmed on May 12th, 1968 into the Zion Lutheran Church Hoffenthal by Reverend Borchardt.
Mitchell took his schooling at Echo School and Langenburg Schools. Leaving school, he then took a welding course in Brandon and worked at Morris Rod Weeder in Yorkton.
Mitchell’s employment both as an Ironworker and a certified safety officer was at several potash mine locations, Uranium City, Cigar Lake, Estevan Boundary Dam and his final employment was with DJ Miller and Sons in Langenburg.
Mitchell enjoyed hunting, fishing, and coaching the Langenburg Colts Fastball team. Over the years he was involved with Langenburg Senior Warriors, the Langenburg Lions Club and Langenburg Fish and Game. He enjoyed gardening, making sausage with Kevin and canning vegetables and making pickles. He also very much enjoyed his times at Pyotts with family and friends. Mitchell always enjoyed pranks, whether he was the instigator or the recipient, and truly treasured his time with family and friends.
Mitchell was predeceased by his parents, his infant sister Sandra, as well as his sister- in- law Ida Marie.
In the last few years, Mitchell struggled with ill health, passing away suddenly and unexpectedly on February 27 at the age of 68.
Mitchell is survived by his brothers Brian (Lynne), Marvin, Kevin (Shawna); Nephews Corey, Jared (Tricia), Justin (Vee), Nathan (Megan), Donovan (Gabby), Devin (Cali) and Nieces Jodi (Al), Cindy (Craig) as well as several great nephews, nieces and cousins.
