Mitchell Wilfred Daniel Sveinbjornson

Mitchell Wilfred Daniel Sveinbjornson of Churchbridge passed away unexpectedly on August 22, 2020 in Langenburg at the age of 29 years.

Mitchell was born in Yorkton on June 29, 1991 to Colleen and Grant. Even as a young boy Mitchell had a penchant for the more mischievous side of life. Always in the middle of some sort of adventure whether it was good or questionable.  Mitchell was blessed with two incredible children - Mavric and Zara. There is nothing in this world he loved more than his babies and there is nothing he wouldn’t do for them. He will be able to rest easy knowing how great their mother is and how many people there are who will love and protect his kids.   Anyone who knew Mitchell knew why we called him zero-to-sixty. There is nothing that Mitchell did halfway. He played hard, worked hard, and loved oh so very hard.   As many of his siblings would tell you, Mitchell did not have gentle tactics when he felt you were screwing up. He always wanted his brothers and sisters to be better than him, to learn from his mistakes and take an easier path than he did. He may have yelled and cursed and stomped his little feet, but he loved you all so very much and only wanted you all to be the best version of yourselves you can be. His expectations of all of you were very high because he knew each of you are capable of achieving great things. I bet if you listen really close you can still hear him say, “Smarten the hell up! Mom and Jim have had enough shit with me!”   For the rest of his family and friends, he was strong willed, opinionated, loud, and never once would he apologize for who or what he was. We know that all he would want from any of us is to know we will love and support his beautiful children and their strong mother.

Rest easy my warrior son. Your job here is done. It is time now for your journey to Valhalla where Odin will no doubt welcome you with open arms. 

Mitchell was predeceased by his maternal grandfather Wilfred Sveinbjornson. He is survived by his children Mavric and Zara; parents Jim & Colleen Larocque of Spy Hill; Grant and Kailee Smith of Alberta; grandparents Dennis and Deb Dedels of Churchbridge; Dick and Marie Smith of Brandon; siblings Aidan Larocque of Regina; Alyssa Larocque of Churchbridge; John-Wesley Debnam of Churchbridge; MacKenzie Debnam of Langenburg; Tristan Larocque of Langenburg; Alli Debnam of Spy Hill and nephew Nixson Larocque of Churchbridge, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins
