It’s with great sadness we announce the passing of Nathaniel James Kaye at the age of 29.
Kapital Kaye,AKA, “Nathaniel Kaye” was an upcoming Canadian rap artist.
Born in Regina, Saskatchewan but raised in Birdtail-Sioux Frist Nation, Manitoba since he was 10 years old.
He started his rap career in his grandmother’s basement with his cousins and friends. In 2014 they formed Lozt Wunz Projuctions. Since then, Kapital Kaye has made countless mixtapes and is in the process of finishing LWP/BCG’s first official album “Are you lozt”.
He is of Saulteaux/Cree descent & records music as a way to express his view of life in the reservation and hopes to open people’s eyes to the issues the Indigenous people of Canada face. As this years “who’s got next” champion he wants to encourage the youth to chase their dreams, no matter how big and would like to thank all his supporters and fans for helping him reach his goals.
Nathaniel is survived by his mother Gwen Kaye and stepfather Curtis Bunn, grandfather John Kaye, aunty Crystal Kaye, Kyren Kaye, special friend Evan Bear(Miranda) and many friends and family.
Nathaniel was predeceased by his father Martin Oochoo, uncles Barry Kaye, Lloyd Kaye, cousins Desiree Thompson, and grandmother MaryAnne Kaye.
Nathaniel will be missed very dearly by his mother Gwen and father Curtis
