**A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. from the Braendle-Bruce Funeral Chapel, Russell with interment following in the Russell Memorial Gardens.
It is with loving hearts that the family announces the peaceful passing of Noreen Laurette Zimmer in the early morning of May 17, 2026 at Russell Hospital at the age of 81 years.
Noreen was the eldest of six children born to Mowbray and Ina (Beattie) Hodgson on February 25, 1945 in Miniota. Noreen was raised in Foxwarren and completed her schooling in Beulah, Foxwarren, Shellmouth, and St. Lazare. After school, she worked at the Royal Bank until she met her husband Willis. They were married on May 16, 1964. They resided on a farm near Cracknell, MB where Noreen worked hard and was known for coming up with a delicious meal at a moment’s notice. When Willis passed away, she relocated to Inglis, MB. She was a prolific and incredibly talented knitter, and devoted much of her time creating baby blankets, sweaters, as well as toques, mittens, and scarves.
She was predeceased by her parents Ina and Mowbray, mother and father-in-law Alvina and Karl, husband Willis, her partner Nelson, son Terry, daughter in law Tara, brother Lynn, brothers in law Gary and Walter, sister in law Margaret, nephew Cole, and niece Michelle.
She is survived by four children - Barry (Rose), Brent (Wendy), Brenda (Scott), Brad (Connie), grandchildren Jenna (Riley), Jacey (Craig), Paige (Tony), Jody (Josee), Kevin(Colleen), Jacqueline (Dan), Thomas (Gabby), Rylan (Jayden), Yale, Myah, Hamish, Braden, Lyndon, son in law Ken, many great grandchildren, siblings Blaine (Corinne), Glenn (Marg), Gloria, Lexie (Morley), sisters in law Lois (Rae), Wendy (Garry), Karen, Diane, brothers in law Melvin (Julie) and Mervin (Emily), as well as many nieces and nephews.
