Patricia Graham Obituary

Patricia Marie Graham was born April 18th 1947 she was the second child of Frank and Nelly Weselak. Patricia was previously married in 1964 and had two children, Betty and Wayne. Patricia and Jack were married on December 3rd 1983 they built a home together in Russell and were happily married for 38 wonderful years.

Patricia attendant school in Strathclair until grade 3. Her dad worked for CP rail and moved around a lot. Patricia attended 18 different schools before graduating with her junior high diploma.

Her first job in 1961 was at park luncheonette at Clear Lake. She then worked at North End ESSO in Russell, the Russell Inn has a cook and waitress. Before becoming owner/ operator Highway 83 Texaco service in Bincarth. This is where she met Jack.

Patricia sold the business in 1980 and moved to Brandon where she worked at the Midway hotel and Thunderbird restaurant/bowling alley. Jack would fly his plane to Brandon to see her and they would go flying together, she loved to fly with Jack.

Patricia moved back to Russell in 1981 where she managed, in order, the Russell Chicken Corral, the Birtle Hotel / restaurant, the Foxwarren restaurant, the Bincarth restaurant, and finally the Russell Esso restaurant.

Patricia retired from the restaurant business in 1999 and enjoyed traveling with Jack to visit family and friends in various locations.

She was an active member of the United Church of Canada and drove for Cancer Care.

Patricia love dancing, she loved being surrounded by family and friends. She loved holidays especially Christmas. When her house would be filled with her family and loved ones. One Christmas her friend Marion Cox who had worked for Pat found herself stranded in Russell. Pat told her, “well you better stay at our house and celebrate Christmas with us”, and she wouldn't take no for an answer when Marion said it would be too much trouble. Pat even wrapped a box of chocolates so there would be a gift under the tree for Marion.

On one flight to thunder Bay to visit friends Patricia needed to use the washroom so bad Jack had to land the plane. To make it worse Jack had to abort the first landing and circle around for another attempt. When they finally did land she jumped out of the plane almost before it came to a stop, she ran into the terminal only to find her path to the washroom blocked by security and protocol. She was finally allowed to use to washroom and escorted back onto the runway.

Pat and Jack loved to go to music jams to watch Pat's sister Sylvia and niece Debbie and their husband's Dave and Art play music. Pat would enthusiastically sing along.

Of course Patricia loved to dance she took lessons with Jack and learned a variety of patterned dances. They went to every dance they could with their friends, even in storms. Nothing was going to stop her dancing. She loved to listen to Ukrainian music on 94 CJGXY Yorkton she would request music and songs and her and Jack would dance together in the house during covid lockdown. Covet may have kept them from going to dances but it didn't keep them from dancing.

She was very good at organizing gatherings at one point she served 1,500 people at a fertilizer advertising event.

And she loved to surprise Jack she pulled off more than one surprise birthday party for Jack with the help of family and friends. He may not have wanted the party but Pat did.

Pat loved to play cards and her and Jack would play crib most nights. She played many games of King Pedro with family and friends and of course there would be a big lunch with coffee and home baked goodies afterwards.

And there was always a puzzle on the go which friends and family would help with when they dropped in to visit.
