Patricia & Larry Jamieson

Larry Bruce Jamieson and Patricia Elaine (Polding) Jamieson shared a lifetime of love and commitment rooted in their faith in Jesus Christ.

Larry was born on December 6, 1949, in Esterhazy, Saskatchewan, to Gordon and Myrtle (Ness) Jamieson. As the son of an Air Force instrument technician, he spent his childhood on bases across Canada alongside his sisters, Carol and Patti. He later earned his agriculture degree and began farming with his Uncle Mervin Ness, eventually purchasing his own farm in 1977.

Patricia was born on May 23, 1952 in Russell, Manitoba and grew up on her parents’ farm near Binscarth, Manitoba, the eldest child of Alfred and Anne (May) Polding. Growing up with her siblings Wendy, Barry, and Laurie, she embraced the responsibilities of farm life early on. After finishing school she went on to work at the Royal Bank in Binscarth but still came home in the evening to milk the cows.

Larry and Pats paths crossed at a curling rink in 1976, and their connection quickly grew into a lifelong love. They were married on May 7, 1977, beginning a journey marked by devotion, shared values, and a deep commitment to one another.

A defining moment in their lives came when each was introduced to Jesus Christ—Larry in 1977, Patricia in 1978. Their decision to accept Him as their personal Savior shaped their marriage, their parenting, and the way they approached every season of life. Their faith became the foundation upon which they built their home. They began attending the Russell Alliance Church which played a major role in growing their faith over the years.

In 1978, they welcomed their first child, Jeremy, followed by their daughter Shawna in 1979, and their youngest son Aaron in 1983. Together, they raised their children with love, guidance, and a steadfast commitment to family and faith.

For 20 years, Larry and Patricia farmed near Spy Hill, Saskatchewan, working side by side through long days and changing seasons while nurturing their growing family. After a reluctant decision to sell the farm, Larry began work as a Crop Insurance Adjuster. In 1999, they relocated to Russell, Manitoba. Pat worked various part time jobs before becoming an administrator at the church for 15 years. In Russell they were blessed to find a beautiful acreage—a place that reflected their love of nature and offered them peace, space, and the simple joys of rural life. They spent the second half of their married life enjoying their acreage, where they created a beautiful home that allowed them to host and mentor many friends throughout the years in various bible studies and small group gatherings.

Larry and Pat are lovingly survived by their children:

Jeremy and his wife Jessica, and their three daughters Josie, Katie, and Abbie;

Shawna and her husband Sheldon Guenther; Aaron and his wife Alenna, along with their four children Liesl, Leif, Aveline, and Aila.

They are also survived by their siblings Larry's sisters Carol (Al) McLeod and Patti Jamieson, Pat's siblings Wendy (Rick) Thom, Barry (Sherri) Polding and Laurie Polding as well as many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Their legacy lives on in the family they cherished, and the countless lives they touched with their love, kindness, generosity, and deep rooted faith.
