With immense sadness we announce the sudden passing of our brother, uncle, father and son Paul.
He is survived by his beloved son: Daniel Cole Ducharme--brothers Alphonse Ducharme, Allan Ducharme (Lorna)and Eugene Fleury (Nancy),sisters Dorothy Rokovetsky (nee Ducharme),Georgette Bowley (Norman),Mary Orr(Mel),and Kate Venne(Pete) as well as bio Mom Isabelle Bonnett, her children Cheryl, Kelly and Wayne and numerous nieces and nephews who loved him deeply.
Paul was born in HAMIOTA, MB and attended schools in Hamiota, Binscarth and Russell Manitoba. After graduating high school in Russell he moved to Winnipeg and worked as a sales rep for wholesale companies then changed his career path to work for the Northern Lights Casino in Prince Albert Saskatchewan as a Security Officer ,the Native Clan organization at Regina House in Winnipeg Manitoba– a half way house for parolees then as a parole officer for many years until he was seconded and eventually hired by Correctional Services Canada where he worked as the Indigenous Community Development Officer until his passing.
Paul was a very kind, generous, non-judgemental, and jovial person who had a superb sense of humor and loved to tease. He was so loved by his family, regarded highly by his co workers and friends. We will miss him so much at family gatherings.
He loved his sports and played baseball, hockey, golf and billiards. He also curled occasionally with his brothers Alphonse and Allan at curling bonspiels. This love of sports led him to coaching. He started coaching baseball when his son Daniel began playing. Paul took courses to improve his coaching skills from a basic knowledge to a very high level of expertise. Throughout the years he had considerable success coaching his baseball teams in provincial and national competitions. His greatest achievement as a coach was winning a Bronze medal in the National baseball finals in BC last summer (2019).
REST IN PEACE BROTHER, you will always be with us.
