Paulette Eleita Poier of Yorkton passed away August 25th, 2024 at the age of 76. She had numerous health issues which she bravely dealt with. Her last days were at Country Meadows Care Home. Paulette was born on October 20th, 1947, adopted to Jack and Elizabeth Poier and brother Calvin. They were raised on the family farm south of MacNutt. Paulette was baptized in MacNutt on August 15th, 1948 by Rev Lucht. Confirmed May 21st, 1961 in MacNutt by Rev Schmidt. After public school in MacNutt she ventured off to Regina to be a hairdresser.
In November of 1953, Paulette and Joan were flower girls for the weddings of Norman and Mildred Nerbas and then, a week or two later, Wilf and Doreen Thies. In around 1974 she moved to Langenburg to be closer to her parents, Jack and Lizzie Poier. She kept busy by working at the Langenburg liquor store, baker at the grocery store, church secretary at Christ Lutheran Church.
Paulette was introduced to the game of golf. She really loved getting out with people to play golf and burn off stress. Her music favorites were Ricky Nelson and Elvis. With Paulette having the trade of hair cutter, my parents and Aunts and Uncles thought that the kids (cousins) are going to have super short hair. But the parents' plans did not work like that. Gaylene really liked getting a haircut, she actually fell asleep getting a haircut.
In around 2002, Paulette moved from Langenburg to Yorkton. She became a greeter at SuperStore. She also became a member of Zion Lutheran Church.
Paulette was predeceased by her parents Jack and Elizabeth Poier, uncle and aunt Harold and Barb Poier.
Surviving Paulette are brother Calvin (Dawn), nieces Colleen, Charmaine Marie, Shelly Lynn, she will be missed by numerous cousins, friends and relatives.
