Richard "Ricky" Perreault

Richard Perreault of St. Lazare, Manitoba, passed away peacefully with family at his side, in Brandon General Hospital, on Wednesday, November 8, 2023.

He was predeceased by his parents, Edmond and Blanche, and his brother-in-law, Bob Downey.

Left to mourn are his siblings, Stephen, Betty Downey, Patricia (Nady) Said, Carol (Rick) Hille, many nieces and nephews, and cousins.

Ricky was born January 5, 1960 in Russell, completing the family.  He was a mischievous, fun-loving little boy. At the age of 5, Ricky suffered an anoxic brain injury.  Following his mother’s death in 1975, Ricky continued to live and work on the family farm until it was sold in 2015. He enjoyed curling, driving his truck, and especially dancing.

Ricky was a big kid at heart, a kind-hearted, trusting man. He loved to socialize and always had a big smile. Ricky enjoyed spending time with family, especially his nieces and nephews. They fondly remember fun times spent with their uncle on the home farm, and how he loved to joke and tease.

A prayer service will be held on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 in the St. Lazare Catholic Church at 8:00 PM, followed by a gathering at the Hall.

The interment of Ricky’s ashes will be held at a later date this summer when family can gather.
