DUE TO IMPENDING STORM, THE SERVICE IS MOVED TO MONDAY, APRIL 18 AT 2:00 P.M.
Rita Caroline Kitz (nee Schmidt) was born June 24, 1932 to Adam and Carolina Schmidt in the Landestreu District. She was baptized on July 17, 1932 and confirmed on March 30, 1947 at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Rita married Alfred Arthur Kitz on June 28, 1953. Their marriage was blessed with two sons, Bradley Victor, who passed away in infancy and Blake Doran. She loved and cherished her son so much and they had such a special bond.
Rita grew up on a farm and continued to farm with her husband Alfred and son Blake. Blake and Rita loved the cattle and enjoyed the baby calves in the spring. She was known for her delicious cooking and baking and excellent gardening skills. Her flowers were always the best on the street. Alfred and Rita attended many dances together, as one of her favorite dances was the polka, especially to the Kitz boy’s music. She continued to enjoy these activities throughout her life. Rita was a faithful servant to the church, being involved in the Ladies Aid in both Landestreu and Regina. She was a member of the Landestreu Immanuel Women's Circle and also a member of The Lutheran Missionary League from 1956 - 1992. She was a Sunday School teacher for many years. Rita and Alfred moved off the farm and to Regina in 1991 to be closer to their son and granddaughters. After Alfred passed away in 2005, Rita remained in her own home where she continued to attend church, garden, care for her grandchildren and cook meals for her family on Sundays. When her health deteriorated in early 2020, she was transferred to St. Joseph's Integrated Care Centre in Lestock, SK. She received the best care there and the family is forever grateful for all the love and support she received.
Rita was predeceased by her infant son Bradley Victor, her parents Adam and Carolina Schmidt, her husband Alfred and her sisters Erna, Wilma, Clara, Elenora and Nathalia.
Left to deeply mourn her loss is her loving son Blake (Natasha) Kitz, cherished and much-loved granddaughters Kaitlynn, Mercedes, Danielle and Brooklyn Kitz, sister Marcella, brother Arthur and numerous nieces and nephews. Special mention to Connie and Keith Neal, Joan Goodwin, Dwight and Cindy Wentzell and family, Heather and Fabian Parisian, her family at St. Joseph's Integrated Care Centre and her Grace Lutheran Church family.
Rita was called home to her lord and savior on April 7, 2022 to be reunited with Alfred and to finally hold her infant son Bradley Victor in her arms.
Mom and Gramma, we love and miss you, and we will be reunited with you again one day.
