Rita Joyce Silversides

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rita Joyce Silversides, on January 22, 2023, in Bandon Manitoba at the age of eighty-six. Rita was predeceased by her parents Clarence and Dorothy McKee, and her older brother Ross. Rita is survived by her beloved husband David of sixty-six years, son Tim (Lynn), daughters Lauren and Shelda (Dan), four grand children, six great grand children and younger brother Glen (Carol).

Rita started her career as a Business Machine operator with Saskatchewan Pool and married Dave in 1956. Dave, Rita and family lived in several small communities across Saskatchewan until 1975 when they moved to Russell where Dave assumed the role of Hospital Administrator and Rita became the Administrator for Russell’s Personal Care Home.

Mom enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling, reading, playing cards, gardening, and was very involved in her church community.

Rita’s private funeral was officiated by Pastor Randy Moffit at Braendle-Bruce’s Chapel on January 25th with family and close friends in attendance.
