Rod passed away suddenly October 2, on the farm, at the age of 67 years.
Rod is survived by the love of his life Gaylene, his children Jeremy (Alana), Joann (Kevin), Justin (Kristy); grandchildren Tyrell (Makayla), Kelsi, Kayla (Logan), Janell, John, Kaleb, Kolby, Kolton, Daniel, Allison, Keaton & Kaydence; mother Joan, mother-in-law Jean; brother Tim; sisters Barb (Kim), Rose (Myles); brothers-in-law Curt (Susan), Darren (Cindy); sister-in-law Marlene, as well as many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his father John Clay; father-in-law Glenn Orth; brothers-in-law Calvin Orth, Bill Hooper and sister-in-law Karen Hooper.
Rod met the love of his life, Gaylene, in the fall of 1976 and they married March 26, 1977. They had three children; Jeremy (1977), Joann (1979), Justin (1981). Rod was blessed with twelve grandchildren.
Rod was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed everything on the farm. He spent many years raising cattle. Rod loved the outdoors, the cattle and horses. He enjoyed his travels with his loving wife and many car rides touring with friends. He loved his kids and grandchildren and spent each day making sure he knew where they were and that they were OK. He gave many side-by-side rides, cold drinks, and candy when they came for visits. He enjoyed nature and spent lots of time learning about birds and wildlife. Rod loved history and would always give you a history lesson on something when you came for a visit. Rod was a man loved by so many.
Always in our hearts.
