It’s with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Shirley Poclitar at the age of 79. She succumbed to her long, hard-fought battle with cancer on June 5th at Russell Hospital with her devoted daughter Kim at her side. Unfortunately due to Covid restrictions, no other family members could be present. Shirley left to mourn her passing her husband James of almost 61 years, daughter Brenda Babcock (Preston), son Brent Poclitar, daughters Glenna Hellmann and Kim Poclitar, grandchildren (pallbearers) Danielle (Matt), Jeremy, Jonah, Joshua, April, Kirsten, great grandchildren Bradley and Blake. Also missing her are her sister Lorraine, brother Larry (Fern) and sister-in-laws Jane and Betty and their families. Shirley was pre-deceased by her parents George and Sadie and brother Fred.
Shirley was a kind soul who was loved by all. She was a wonderful cook and her grand and great grandchildren were the apples of her eye. Shirley loved gardening, flowers and shopping.
We take comfort knowing that she is resting peacefully now and free from pain. A special thanks to homecare workers Kim, Caitlyn. Starla Thom and nurses Lori and Nicole for taking great care of mom. Your kindness will forever be appreciated.
This is not goodbye mom, we will see you later.
