Tara Leanne Matiowsky

Tara Leanne Matiowsky of Birtle passed away January 5, 2026 at Brandon General Hospital at the age of 48.

Tara’s greatest joy in her life was her family. Tara went to school in Birtle and after graduating from high school she took her hairdressing at Classic School of Beauty in Brandon.

She moved back to Birtle and was a waitress then custodian at Birtle Collegiate and Park West School Division. Tara enjoyed gardening, bird watching, painting and anything with her family. She also enjoyed cooking and trying new recipes all the time. She will be missed by many family members and friends.

Tara was predeceased by her father Ken Spencer, father in-law Andrew Matiowsky and brother in-law Arnold Matiowsky.

Tara leaves behind her husband Calvin, son Nicholas, daughter Hayley (Nicholas), Mother Sandra (Bill) McKenzie, mother in-law Cecilia Horitchie, sisters Kim (Darren) Fleury, Rebecca (Jordon) Gregoire, brother Corey. Brothers-in-law David, Conrad (Monica), Samuel (Melainie), Sisters-in-law Margaret (Pedro) Gomez, Cindy (Marco) Auriti, Diane, Crystal (Colin) Draffin and many nieces, nephews.

A Private family service will be held at a later date.
