Vernon Stanley Gawel

Vernon Stanley Gawel of Russell, MB left this world on December 31,2023 at the age of 69.

Vern was born in Langenburg, Saskatchewan on September 24, 1954 to Stanley and Mary Gawel. He was one of three children; his sisters are Rose and Verna.

Vern grew up in Russell, Manitoba. He worked as a repair man at Pash Electric in Russell and Circle M Furniture in Melita. He worked at the Home Hardware in Russell until his death. When he wasn't working, he could be found playing guitar, watching westerns, and fixing things.

Vern rejoins his parents, sister Rose Pash and half brother Ted.

Surviving are daughters Sharmanda (Curtis) Gawel, Ashlynn (Blair) Shannon, granddaughter Annaleigh, sister Verna (Terry) Gawel, brother-in-law Bill Pash, as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and close friends.

As per Vern’s wishes there will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you fix something that is broken instead of throwing it away- Dad would have liked that. Donations can be made to any charity of your choice.
