Wilbert was born February 15, 1946, in Russell to Martha (Klimack) and Emil Koss. He was the youngest of four. He went to school first in Londonderry, then Russell.
He spent this whole life on the farm except when he explored a mining career in Thompson and Fernie, B.C.
In his early years he worked at Texaco, Clement’s Body Shop and the Department of Highways, eventually taking over the farm.
Wilbert was a bachelor for a lot of years, but in 1983 met the love of his life, Debbie (Gunchoski). They married in 1984 and were so proud to welcome their daughter Nicole in 1985. He was also super proud to add son-in-law Kyle and grandchildren Elizabeth, Waylon, and Declan to the family.
Wilbert is survived by his sister Karen (Jack) Davis, nephews Tim, Todd, and Rob Davis, Terry and Donald Kufflick and niece Cindy Mountain and their families. He was predeceased by parents Emil and Martha, brother Bobby, and sister Ada.
Wilbert loved the outdoors. He enjoyed many hunting and fishing trips and he spent many hours cleaning and polishing his various vehicles over the years. He was very passionate about his yard and you wouldn’t find a blade of grass out of place. He enjoyed going for drives in the country looking at wildlife, but he especially enjoyed being home on the farm.
We take solace in the fact that his last hours were spent in the car at Debbie’s side, enjoying the wildlife on his way to his beloved farm. He was deeply comforted knowing that he was on his way home.
